Well, this piece certainly has a story to tell!
Book latches or book clasps were little pieces of hardware used to securely fasten the front of a book to the back cover. This little device was often used in pairs, and kept all the pages in between, dust free and protected from any damaging light. Brass clasps were revived during the end of the 19th century, and were often seen on photograph albums, bibles, prayer books and diaries. This unique bracelet, has been created by repurposing an antique Victorian, brass book clasp, from the late 1800's.
