Meet the Designer

Hot Rocks Jewellery

Every treasure has lived a life before it found you.

I’ve always been drawn to things with a past, a  forgotten key at the bottom of an old box, a beautifully worn chain, an old coin, a tiny charm whose story has long since been lost.

My love of antiquing, fashion and creating eventually came together in Hot Rocks Jewellery, where I give these forgotten treasures a new life.

Many of my designs begin with authentic antique and vintage finds, salvaged chains, old keys, coins, charms, beads and other intriguing fragments discovered along the way. I combine them with carefully chosen artisan elements and contemporary materials, allowing old and new, romantic and industrial, delicate and beautifully worn to exist together.

I especially love the unexpected pairings.

Things don't have to match perfectly to belong together. Sometimes the most unlikely combination is the one that tells the most beautiful story.

Each piece is created slowly and intuitively, often evolving around a single object that catches my imagination. Its age, patina and imperfections aren't something I try to erase. They're part of what makes it beautiful. Part of where it has been.

The result is jewellery that feels collected rather than manufactured, one of a kind and limited pieces with history, soul and a little mystery.

My designs have found their way into boutiques across Western Canada and, even more importantly, into the lives of women who connect with the stories they carry.

Born in London, England, I now live and create on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, with my husband. When I'm not creating or searching for my next forgotten treasure, you'll usually find me drawn to the ocean, nature and the outdoors.

I believe the things we choose to wear can tell a story.
Sometimes, they have already lived one.

Life is too short for boring jewellery.
