This substantial two sided pendant was cast from an authentic Byzantine follis coin, originally issued during the early Byzantine era. The bold “M” that dominates one side was used to denote its value of 40 nummi.
I’ve paired this pendant with salvaged antique brass chain links and richly textured chain. The irregular surfaces and aged metals beautifully complement the character of the ancient styled coin.
